Availity is seeking an experienced product management professional to join the Network Products team as a Product Line Manager. The incumbent PLM will be responsible for facilitating the launch of Availity product offerings on Availity's network which will include:

•Work with product owners in the pre and post-service product organizations to operationalize products delivered on Availity portal for EDI batch and real-time (API, SOAP-wrapped X12) integrated technologies
•Define the Network Product launch standards and accompanying artifacts through collaboration with Availity's product, technical and operational support teams
•Facilitate/guide the PO's efforts with Gateway Connectivity Services, legal, sales, support, marketing and finance to ensure the product operationally scales to meet Availity's standards for market readiness
•Facilitate successful deployment of new product offerings on Availity's platforms; monitor feedback from product owners to make operational improvements prior to going live with external Trading Partners
•Collaborate with PLMs and POs to manage pilots for EDI and API products

The Product Line Manager will have experience working with business and technical stakeholders, and will be comfortable leading operational and technical requirement discussions with POs and fellow PLMs. This PLM will manage through influence, building relationships that foster trust and accountability. The PLM leads the overall "path to the network" for Availity products to ensure factors driving revenue and profitability are in place working through matrixed resources such as Marketing and Sales. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare information technology or a similarly complex industry that is highly regulated, exposure to or certification in Pragmatic Marketing, experience building and bringing products to market and the ability to define, monitor and iterate on launch processes to support the product lifecycle.


  • Delivers on commitments. Ensures that projects are completed and properly documented according to product specifications, timelines and quality standards
  • Enables the portfolio strategy by delivering a commercially viable product and ensures all factors of a go to market strategy are enacted.
  • Develop market insights by maintaining close relationships with the market for awareness of market needs. Works with Marketing, Sales and others as they identify appropriate markets and develops effective strategies and tactics for reaching them. Partners with Marketing on the Go-To-Market strategy. Assists sales in their interactions with prospects and users.
  • Collaborates with Market Research to strategize, plan, and prioritize market, product, and subject matter research that identify and define opportunities to support and grow business. Specifies market requirements for current and future products supported not only by research, but also through ongoing visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Coordinates the implementation of new products/features to existing operations. This includes internal communications, metrics, process design and operational readiness.
  • Collaborates and influences across the Availity matrix organization to align the activities of product, marketing, IT, sales, and service teams and their leaders to deliver the product(s). Drives cross-team innovation and enterprise thinking to actively seek opportunities for growth through product line extensions, geographical and channel expansion, or operational/cost improvements to existing products.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years' experience as a product manager
  • Experience with modern technology architectures, database technology, virtualization, and the impact of government initiatives and HIPAA privacy and security regulations on system design.
  • Experience within the healthcare finance and administration sector, working with providers, health plans, clearinghouses or other organizations including comprehensive understanding of healthcare EDI transactions.
  • Experience with real time processing systems.
  • Experience working in an Agile and/or iterative development environment.
  • Experience representing company and products to the client and industry; feedback.
  • Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.
  • P&L and business planning experience.
  • Masters Degree and / or an advanced degree in healthcare or technology related field
