Senior Software Engineer
The ESAE Team at Autodesk
The Enterprise Service Application Engineering teams are chartered with the plan and build phases of a wide portfolio of software and applications supporting Autodesk's business, human capital and finance activities. With our business model transformation underway (moving from selling perpetual software licenses to cloud-based subscription services), we are making substantial investments in new skills and technologies, such as cloud native development, big data, and business intelligence tools.
What You'll Do
Our team builds common tooling, applications, and processes for use in the wider organization. We focus on the entire software development lifecycle and brainstorm methods to remove inefficiencies and bottlenecks. You will work with your engineering leads to develop new solutions to support other Autodesk teams in how products are created and delivered. Role is hybrid with a semi-flexible schedule.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will:
- Work with engineering leads developing new software solutions in different types and complexity
- Contribute to standard Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming and standup sessions
- Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems
Skills and Experience
Required
- At least 2 years of experience with TypeScript (preferred), JavaScript, or Node.js
- At least 2 years of experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for web applications (DevOps, Jenkins)
- At least 4 years of experience developing REST APIs in any language
- Development experience with light serverless applications
- Development experience with event-based architectures
- Hands-on experience with AWS, such as CloudFormation, AppSync, IAM, Api Gateway, Event Bridge, Step Functions, or DynamoDB
- Experience with Relational and NoSQL database technologies - MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB
- Accomplished with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Serverless Framework)
- Knowledge of secure and scalable code practices
- Excellent knowledge of Git/GitHub
- Familiarity with scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
- Experience with scripting such as Python, PowerShell, Groovy, or Bash
- Familiarity with developing GraphQL APIs
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, DataDog, Splunk, Grafana, or New Relic

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,300 and $190,300. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
