Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Director, Software Engineering to join our Media & Entertainment solutions organization. In this role you will lead teams of software developers focused on designing and building the next generation of Production Management solutions and services for film, TV, and game-based workflows. Our solutions provide users the ability to manage productions throughout the entire creative production process.

This is a new role within the Production Management and Platform Product Line group at Autodesk. You will manage multiple global software development teams that are continually improving our existing product portfolio and building net new solutions on our Autodesk Flow platform. We are looking for someone who is nimble, thinks outside the box, and can quickly deliver customer value while leveraging the greater good that Autodesk has to offer. This means someone who has successfully operated at scale that also possesses an entrepreneurial spirit to help drive toward our ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Production Management Software development teams to ensure products in our existing portfolio consistently exceed our customers' expectations, and to design and build new services and capabilities on our Autodesk Flow cloud platform
  • Accountable for making strategic technical decisions and plans resulting in a committed roadmap
  • Spearhead and guide the team to execute using agile and scrum methodologies to continuously get customer feedback throughout the development lifecycle
  • Own the delivery of product commitments and always looking for ways to improve productivity
  • Partner closely with product management and technology leaders across Media & Entertainment teams and across Autodesk to strategize, plan and execute upon vision
  • Build and lead global teams with the skills and experience necessary to build core Production Management technology to be deployed on our platform
  • Assume a leadership role in Production Management and Platform team, making broad contributions to the team and its strategies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Proven track record of defining, building, launching and managing platform technology to support multiple SaaS product offerings in an organization that utilizes the Agile development methodology Implement software development methodologies that will dramatically improve software quality, rapid SaaS development iterations designed to improve speed-to-market
  • Experience leading cloud software development teams focused both on technology and organization with the skills to hire/further build out teams
  • Demonstrated success leading SaaS software development organizations with highly complex and scalable products. The successful candidate should have experience in designing and developing products that deploy globally
  • A results-oriented leader with the ability to lead and inspire engineering professionals to succeed in a fast changing and highly competitive market, keeping the team focused on breakthrough strategies and tactics to best leverage the resources of a growing company
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams to develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, implementation schedules, and adherence to development goals and principles
  • Excellent communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must have exceptional presentation skills and experience presenting at an executive level

  • Hands-on and entrepreneurial style - one that looks to become personally involved in all elements of managing their functional responsibility, and someone who seeks to develop like-minded senior managers with similar capabilities
  • Ability to actively collaborate, influence, communicate, and motivate across all levels of staff
  • Ability to translate broad company strategies into clear, specific objectives and actionable plans, building passion and buy-in across teams

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $207,400 and $335,500. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
