ABOUT THIS ROLE
Based in London, Audible Ltd. is looking for an Associate Contracts Manager ("ACM"). You will be a key member of Audible's legal team, providing support on a variety of issues. You will assist a broad range of teams, including content, production and marketing. You will work on a variety of complicated and sophisticated transactions alongside qualified lawyers, commercial deal makers and other corporate stakeholders. You will provide day-to-day contracting advice, implement process improvements, deliver training and much more.

To be successful as an ACM, you must have excellent communication skills as this role will involve direct contact with principal business owners. You should be inquisitive, be enthusiastic about audio entertainment, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.

We offer a hybrid working pattern, with work being split between our Hub near the Barbican, and remote or home working; Thursday is currently a core day when you will normally be expected to be in the office, other office day(s) are flexible depending on your needs and that of the team. This position is initially open through a 12- months contract.

As an Associate Contracts Manager, you will...

  • Review draft and negotiate with a variety of supplier and production contracts, including with marketing agencies, production studios, celebrity talent agents, and others.
  • Coordinate and interact with business affairs, finance, legal as well as Audible and Amazon stakeholders throughout the content acquisition, production, and distribution lifecycle.
  • Respond promptly, accurately, and crisply with minimal supervision to business requests for legal advice and escalate where required.
  • Develop and maintain contract templates, training materials, standard operating procedures for contracting processes, and mechanisms for tracking associated metrics.
  • Assist with other tasks and projects on an as-needed basis, such as team administration and coordination of responses to regulatory enquiries.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years' of contracts management, paralegal, or equivalent experience, including 1+ year in an in-house environment.
  • Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience supporting a digital media, consumer or content business, and/or experience providing businesses with marketing and consumer law experience.
  • Good working knowledge of legal concepts related to contracting, marketing, licensing and content production, including copyright and trademark law.
  • Ability to manage many simultaneous workstreams, clients, and projects, often under tight deadlines.
  • UK legal qualification at Bachelor or graduate level (including SQE), or equivalent.
  • Sound and practical business judgment.
