Principal Architect Cloud Applications & Web


This position is part of the Xandr Data - Marketing, Advertising,and Content data-sharing platform that resides within the Chief Data Office ofXandr. The Xandr Data cloud-based platform combines AT&T's uniqueconsumer data and growing content data assets and enables data sharing acrossbusiness units in support of marketing, advertising, and content intelligencerelated use cases. This role leads architecture for the web applicationand UI development engineering organization.

Overall Purpose

Responsible for the fundamental technology work ofarchitecting/designing/building the core frameworks for our cloud-based webapplications and end to end solutions, including building app UI platform and experiencecomponents. Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards,tools, and platforms and must have an understanding of systems and applicationengineering principles derived from experience.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Collaborate with critical stakeholders to understand businessneeds, priority, and the quality of services to be created or enhanced. Drivesolution to be compliant with Target State Architecture. Drive enhancements toTarget State Architecture to meet future business needs. Responsible fordiscovering and identifying any bottleneck gaps such as manual flows that canhinder the services or impact cycle time or cost and resolve them early duringthe solution, design, and construction phase. Drive research andstandardization of platform components that can make up the building blocksfrom which AT&T will build applications and services. Ensure applicationsand services are leveraging building blocks whenever possible. Ensureintegration of non functional requirements such as security, scalability,resiliency, and performance in all solutions. Define and design functional, technical,performance, and reliability solutions in line with client inferred requirements.Solves complex performance issues. Creates massive distributed systems. Createsintegrated solutions between legacy and target state solutions. Create vendorguidelines and best practices. Define company technical strategic directionsfor vendor selection, technology choices, engineering processes, and tools.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 10+ years overall experience
  • 5+ years in software architecture and technical team lead roles
  • 5+ years large-scale software development using modern languages and frameworks
  • 2+ years recent hands-on technical architecture using AWS or other cloud technologies

Position requires advanced technical skills and experience indesigning distributed web applications and systems on the AWS platformincluding: Designing and deploying dynamically scalable, highly available,fault tolerant, and reliable applications on AWS; Selecting appropriate AWSservices to design and deploy an application based on given requirements;Migrating complex, multi-tier applications on AWS; Designing and deployingenterprise-wide scalable operations on AWS; Implementing cost controlstrategies.

Ideal candidate has experience deployingmulti-tenant AWS environments with fine grain access controls. Able to solutionfor all services and components of AWS including but not limited to: AWSCompute, Storage, Database, Networking, Security, Identity & Compliance.Must have prior hands-on experience with automation of infrastructure and code provisioning.Ability to clearly document and communicate overall design as well astrade-offs.

AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional aplus.

BS/MS in Technical degree: Computer Science,Engineering, Math, or similar degree.

Day to day responsibilities for this position include detailedarchitecture and integrated component design in cloud platforms (AWS and Azure)creating and leveraging cloud platform design patterns to integrate andoperationalize data product applications and services.
