NOSC Systems Administrator (Government)

Candidates will be assigned duties within Network Operations/Security Center (NOSC) as aSystem Administrator (SA) responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for HNS. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Installation and configuration of software and hardware
  • Management of network servers and technology tools
  • Monitoring performance and maintaining systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshooting issues and outages
  • Ensuring security through access controls, backups and firewalls
  • Upgrading systems with new releases and models
  • Training of NOSC Operations staff on new technologies
  • Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and manuals, as required.
  • Specifically the HNS NOSC Systems Administrator is accountable for the following systems:
• Compute: 
Operations & maintenance of all GNS NOSC servers infrastructure including
  • physical HPE blade & rack servers
  • o Operations & maintenance VMware vSphere 6.5 infrastructure
  • o Testing & deploying all server Operating System (OS) (RHEL 7 and Windows Server 2016) patches and release/version updates

 Storage:
o Operations & maintenance of the Fibre Connected (FC) SAN infrastructure including the two HPE 3Par StorServ 8400 storage arrays, the HPE SN3000B FC switch (Brocade based) and HPE Virtual Connect FC configuration
o Operations and maintenance of the server backup infrastructure including the HPE StorOnce 5100 D2D backup appliance, HPE StorEver MSL 3048 tape library and the Micro Focus Data Protector backup server

Applications:
Maintaining the Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software and AT&T Enterprise Orchestrator system

Network:
Operations, maintenance, and configuration changes to the network hardware used in the NOSC. The network hardware includes Cisco ISR 4451, Cisco ASA-5555X firewall, Dell EMC Networking S4148F-ON and S3048-ON switches o Operation and maintenance of the HPE blade chassis Virtual Connect Ethernet network
