Government Lead System Design Engineer
This position is for a cyber security analyst/threat hunter that can identify security incidents in customer, sector and global network traffic using various data sources and cyber tools, including an emerging AT&T cyber security service. The person filling this position analyzes raw network data and prepares reports that communicate anomalies and potential security threats, interacting directly with customer analysts. Another major role for this position is defining and prototyping new analytics that can be used to identify threats to customers' networks. This person must have the ability to listen to customers, discern their requirements, evaluate and integrate those requirements into a cohesive whole and communicate that information back to the threat team. This person contributes to the development process for AT&T service platforms and is expected to propose usability and functionality improvements, including integration of commercial cyber security tools or information resources
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite is required, as is detailed understanding of Internet security and general adversarial tools and techniques. Prior experience in analyzing NetFlow, DNS, BGP or other network metadata is preferred. The candidate should have a working knowledge of Linux, experience with a scripting language, be comfortable working independently and closely with a group, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in threat hunting/reporting and deriving insights from large data sets is required.
A Bachelors Degree is required and preferred to be in Computer Science/Math/Statistics or related discipline.
Required Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and Secret clearance are required
Desired: TS/SCI clearance is desired Cyber security certifications are desired, including Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CISSP, GIAC Penetration Testing, CompTIA Security+
