UX Design Team Lead
Atlassian is one of the fastest growing software companies in the world, with millions of users across our products (JIRA, HipChat, Confluence, Bitbucket, and now - Trello, to name a few.). We're making a substantial investment in experience design, endeavouring to make Atlassian products essential for all Teams.
If you live and breathe the user experience, love solving hard problems and thrive on variety, Atlassian has a great opportunity for you.
We have an exciting opportunity for a UX Design Team Lead to join one our pivotal teams in Sydney.
In this exciting role, you’ll have a foot in craft and still contribute as a designer, but you'll also lead a small, talented team of designers. You will be deeply involved in the entire design process from helping define vision, process and decisions, through to interaction design, user research and usability testing, and pixel-perfect quality assurance - ultimately it’s about creating an amazing user experience for our customers!
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people but has the urge to get their hands back into the design from time to time.
You’ll also be the primary contact for design questions as you help other team designers go deep on the product to get the work done, whilst ensuring your product design is always as awesome and high quality as it can be, and have a constant vision for where your product is going in the future.
More about you
To be successful in this role, we'd expect you to have:
- 5+ years of hands-on professional crafting user experiences for enterprise software/services, and a further 2+ years of people management experience
- Strong facilitation and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes
- Ability to define projects and measures of success, test your assumptions and outcomes, and continuously incorporate feedback
- Interest in being a self-starter with your eye constantly on solutions: you are someone who can easily step into the customer's shoes with enthusiasm to craft great experiences
We are always growing, learning, and adapting, in and out of the office. You'll be joining a team that is highly engaged and direct. We help each other to constantly improve our work and reach our potential. We're dedicated to Agile methodology and big believers in 'lean', which means we don't do documentation for documentation's sake. We also know all too well the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to ensure we're right (or discover where we're wrong). It's all about improving our user's experience, no matter who or where it is.More about the perks
Our offices are open, highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some awesome perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, five paid volunteer days a year for your favourite cause, breakfasts, lunches & snacks provided, ergonomic workstations, 20% work time for your passion projects, quarterly ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years and more.More about Atlassian
