Senior Product Designer, Bitbucket

Job Description

Come join a product team that's innovating the way developers collaborate and share code all over the world. More than 900,000 teams and 5 million developers love Bitbucket. We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team in San Francisco and help make it even more amazing.

If you live and breathe the user experience, love solving problems and thrive on variety, this is a great opportunity for you. As a Senior Product Designer for Bitbucket, you'll work on a small, cross-functional team of Designers, Engineers and Product Managers to innovate the way development teams share and review code to build amazing software for their customers. If you want to make a substantial impact on products that people rely on and use everyday, this is an amazing opportunity for you.

You'll work on compelling design initiatives and deliver cutting edge Git code hosting tools. You will be involved in early stage research and ideation, implementation and iteration. Ultimately you'll be responsible for creating a killer user experience for Developers around the world!

More about you

We love designers who are eager to deliver across the entire design process. Alongside strong product and UX design knowledge, you are an excellent Visual Designer: you have a highly polished portfolio and a deep knowledge of (and love for) things like typography, illustration, and iconography. Ideally you have 5+ years of hands-on professional experience as a UX Designer or Visual Designer, preferably with SaaS or complex web-based enterprise applications.

Your colleagues describe you as a self-starter with your eye constantly on solutions, and someone who can easily step into the customer's shoes with the enthusiasm to create great experiences. You’ll also need strong facilitation and collaboration abilities, a flexible and friendly approach to working with teams, and the attitude to always strive for the best outcomes.

Ideally, you've got some technical chops: you know what "git" means and understand your way around code, even if just at a basic level!

More about the team

You’ll be joining a team that is crazy smart and very direct. We challenge each other constantly to improve our work and ask hard questions. We're dedicated to agile methodology and big believers in 'lean', which means we don’t do documentation for documentation's sake. We also know all too well the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to prove ourselves right (or wrong). It’s all about improving our user’s experience—no matter who or where it is.

More about the perks

Our offices are open, highly collaborative and yes, fun! To support you at work (and play) we offer some killer perks: ample time off to relax and recharge, five paid volunteer days a year for your favorite cause, plenty of food and drinks (including beer), ergonomic workstations with Aeron chairs, 20% work time for your passion projects, unique ShipIt days, a company paid trip after five years, generous employer-paid insurance coverage and more.
