Senior Developer, Developer Relations

Company Description

Atlassian's Developer Relations team sits on the cutting edge of technology. Our mission is to drive excitement and empower developers to build on the Atlassian platform. In this role, you'll be a part of a global team of developer advocates who empower and enable third party developers to build innovative integrations on our product platforms like JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket. This will take the form of creating sample code, tutorials, developing SDKs and tools as well as working directly with third party developers. You will also partner closely with product teams and be the voice of developer internally for their needs.

More About You

Our Developer Advocates have a diverse set of skills, with the right balance of business acumen and technical chops. We’d love if you had a Computer Science or equivalent degree, along with 3+ years experience in software development along with deep knowledge of developer tools and processes. You have a passion for engaging with developer communities - sharing what you know in person, in blogs, in presentations. You have just as much passion for listening to customers and translating their needs back to internal teams.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Java development, including facility with Java frameworks (e.g. Spring)
  • Significant experience with web applications and relevant languages (e.g. JavaScript)
  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL
  • Strong interest in collaborating with and mentoring colleagues
  • 2+ years Maven experience

We would love if you also had experience with

  • OSGi and Maven plugin development
  • Atlassian's products
  • Interest in open source technology
