Product Advocates Senior Associate
At Atlassian, our Product Advocates are the "possibility experts" who not just wow potential clients, but also help them to understand the solutions that our products can provide. This position will both use and stretch your technical skills, as you'd be helping Atlassian product evaluators learn how they can use our tools more effectively.
Our sales model is atypical, and it rocks. The process begins with our products, which have to be compelling or everything stalls. Marketing then works to get the word out and more eyeballs on our products. Our Product Advocate group backs this up by equipping new users with tips, tricks, and how-tos prior to, and during their product evaluations. It is a transparent, client-driven sales process, which is how we believe enterprise sales should be done. Selling here is driven by customers, fueled by the products themselves, and propelled further by Advocate-led product guidance.
The Product Advocate group also champions our customers and products within Atlassian. The majority of our time is spent helping customers 'on the front lines' and then working internally to voice their product needs. Our work and success lies in first and foremost learning all we can about the clients and their needs, then channeling that knowledge into product improvement by working with Product Management and Product Marketing to help define product strategy. As an Associate Product Advocate, you’d be responsible for managing evaluator requests, responding to those requests, and providing insight to the rest of the Advocate team and other stakeholders on challenges and opportunities our evaluators encounter when trialing our products.

•Field incoming product usage inquiries via email and phone
•Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of all Atlassian products
•Understand the mechanics of Atlassian sales systems and processes, including quotes, orders, licensing & pricing, renewals & upgrades
•Foster continual improvement in our internal systems and processes
•Champion client feedback into the org: collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing on product feedback, content creation and overall strategy
•Aggregate, collate, and analyze client behaviors
•A professional, positive (can-do) attitude
•Very strong communication - written and oral
•Exceptional capacity to prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
•Strong organization & presentation skills
•Meticulous attention to detail
VERY DESIRABLE SKILLS
•Software development experience
•Experience in a customer-facing role
•Working knowledge of source code management systems (Git, Hg, SVN, Perforce, CVS, etc.)
•Strong understanding of the analytic process
•Proficiency in Business Intelligence Tools including database queries and Excel
•Working knowledge of software development methodologies including Agile
•Working knowledge of web application structure (app servers, DBs, SQL, etc.)
•Product demonstration experience
•Demonstrated experience fostering and driving innovation through software
•Proven analytical experience
•Understanding of the software development lifecycle
