Principal Solutions Engineer, DevOps (SF or Austin)

Job Description

Atlassian is looking for an outgoing technical guru who can 'talk shop' with our largest customers. Our Solutions Engineering team plays a key role in how Atlassian recommends and sells our suite of Enterprise Products and Services. How do you know if this is a fit for you?

As a Principal Solutions Engineer, you ride shotgun to our internal and channel go to market teams, providing technical sales support. You guide customers through the execution of high profile product evaluations using in-depth knowledge of Atlassian, our Enterprise tool set, and industry best practices. This can take on many forms from product demonstrations, phone calls, email support, and occasional on-site visits. The Principal Solutions Engineer also act as a feedback funnel directly to our product management teams, offering insights and recommendations gathered from their customer interactions.

You want to be a part of something big. Big customers, big projects and big products define this role. Between helping enable our Enterprise Advocates to shine brighter with our customers and helping our customers find solutions to their real pain points, nothing about this role is small. If you're more comfortable operating in a large and defined system, then this simply is not a job for you.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • 5-7 years experience interacting with customers and the strong written and oral communication skills to back it up. 
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle concepts and deep experience with similar ALM tools (as a user or admin, or on the vendor side)
  • Deep understanding of web applications, internet technology, and infrastructure concepts. 

It's great, but not required, if you have:

  • Deep knowledge in the DevOps space, understanding the ecosystem of potential integrations, and are able to talk the wide gambit of branching strategies through configuration as code.
