Information Experience Team Lead (Technical Writer)

In this exciting role, you’ll have a foot in craft and still contribute as a an IX Writer, but you'll also lead and manage a small team of talented and passionate technical writers who are looking to you to be a guide and a mentor.

Your team will be responsible for delivering a great experience for customers as they discover, evaluate, and master our products.
This role actively collaborates with marketing, training, design and support teams to ensure a comprehensive approach. A big part of your job will be working with developers and product managers to translate information about the great features we're shipping into useful content to help customers get the most out of our products. You’ll also be testing and validating our existing content and finding ways to improve it.

This job is for someone who thinks bigger than traditional software documentation. You can explain complex features within tiny amounts of product real estate and communicate value in a compelling, clear and effective way. If you have the following traits you will be a great fit: a knack for creatively engaging with audiences (no “me too” stuff), a need to work in a fast-paced environment, excellent project management skills, an ability to challenge yourself and others, and a love for guiding users through a fun and creative learning process. On any given day you can expect to be testing and validating content, engaging with product managers, developers and designers, and designing an information architecture that allows the product of great content to scale.

More about you

To be truly successful in this role, we'll expect you to have:

  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • The ability to explain the value of complex features in a small amount of product real estate
  • Interest in working collaboratively with product managers, developers, and designers
  • A knack for inventively engaging with audiences
  • Ability to successfully lead projects or execute on work independently
  • Ability to think creatively about how to test and validate content in a maintainable, scalable way
