Job Description
StatusPage has come a long way from its humble beginnings over 3 years ago, picking up over 2,500 customers and some of the biggest names on the internet. Companies like Box, Desk.com, Visa, Atlassian, Citrix, Twilio, New Relic, and Vimeo rely on our platform to make their lives better and to keep their customers happy during downtime. We've been profitable since early on, believe in running a sustainable company with teammates that help us grow, and recently were acquired by Atlassian to accelerate our growth and product offering.
Your job as our first Business Development Associate is to help us execute an outbound sales strategy targeting the top software providers that don't currently use StatusPage. Example day to day activities will include using social listening tools to find companies that should use StatusPage, researching the right contacts at those companies, kicking off email campaigns, and setting up calls/demos. This role is perfect for someone recently out of undergrad or with 1-2 years of SDR experience. You’re hungry, tech savvy, and an incredible communicator. Ideally, you're also looking to kick-off a career in sales or marketing and can envision yourself leveling up at Atlassian.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Using mention.com and other channels to find companies and that should be using StatusPage
Using various SaaS services to find contacts at those companies
Manually cleaning data
Finding additional contextual information that we can use for the outbound emails such as recent downtime or scheduled maintenance
Kicking-off automated email campaigns and being the main POC for managing initial conversations
Scheduling calls/demos for our Senior Enterprise Advocate
Becoming an expert on our product
Tweaking and measuring email content and CTAs

On your first day, you should have:
A tech savvy mindset
Incredible communication skills - Oprah would be jealous!
A data driven approach to any problem that comes your way
1-2 years of experience in a role that demands strong communication and the use of SaaS tools
It’s admired, but not required, if you have:
Some basic technical skills - you hacked your Craigslist apartment hunt through Zapier!

Post-acquisition, we are still functioning as a startup - just with some additional firepower! We have high expectations, move fast, and are a super tight-knit group of 17. As a BDA, you’ll be working on the growth team, alongside one of the StatusPage co-founders, a growth engineer, and senior enterprise advocate. We enjoy what we do, get excited about graphs that go up to the right, celebrate closing an awesome new customer, all while trying not to take ourselves too seriously.
