2019 University Software Developer

Job description

Love to innovate? Want the freedom to be creative? How about the time and resources to make them a reality? Yes? Great. We build software for the world’s most talented thinkers. That means we need our own team to push boundaries daily. At Atlassian, you’ll be encouraged to use your imagination and try new things. You’ll collaborate with some of the best minds in tech. You'll be a part of our values driven culture, have opportunities to speak at global conferences, and participate in ShipIt—our quarterly hackathon—within your first week.

On day one, you will be a valued part of our development team, trusted to make changes to code that directly impact our products, while gaining deep technical knowledge in full life-cycle product development. You'll dream up and code new features that can be shipped straight into our products, all the while being trained by our very best people.

More about you

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field and are graduating by June 2019
  • Experience with Java, Python, C, C++, or other related object-oriented programming languages
  • Real passion for collaborating with colleagues to build technical solutions to hard problems

It’s great, but not required, if you:

  • Have a real passion for software engineering, as demonstrated by previous internships, work experience, projects, or publications
  • Deep understanding of data structures, in particular how they are implemented and how to apply them to solve problems
  • Familiarity with application of common design patterns

More about our team

You’ll be joining a team that is smart and very direct. We challenge each other constantly to improve our work, learn, and ask hard questions. We're dedicated to agile methodology and are big believers in ‘lean’ (which means we don’t do documentation for documentation's sake). We know the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to figure out whether we're right (or wrong). Our bottom line is improving our user’s experience—no matter what.

More about Atlassian

With a customer list that reads like a who's who in tech and a highly disruptive business model, we’re advancing the art of team collaboration with products like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, and now Stride. Driven by honest values, an amazing culture, and consistent revenue growth, we’re out to unleash the potential of every team. From Amsterdam and Austin to Sydney and San Francisco, we’re looking for people who are powered by passion and eager to do the best work of their lives in a highly autonomous yet collaborative, no B.S. environment.
