Job Description

Do you live and breathe the user experience? Do you love solving tough problems, and thrive on variety? Atlassian is currently seeking Design interns to join our growing Design teams in San Francisco and Mountain View.

Join Atlassian as an intern and spend your summer with us having a direct impact on how millions of users collaborate and use software. The most amazing thinkers—like NASA rocket scientists and Tesla engineers—are coming to us for solutions. We’re in the business of developing software to help teams everywhere get amazing ideas on the ground and into the world. Sound like an exciting place to start your career? Here you'll be encouraged to use your imagination and try new things.

More about you

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program and graduating by July 2019

  • Passion for user-focused design

  • Ability to plan effectively while juggling multiple simultaneous projects

  • Passion for collaborating with cross-functional team members, like engineers and product managers, as well as other designers

More about our team

You’ll be joining a team that is smart and very direct. We challenge each other constantly to improve our work, learn, and ask hard questions. We're dedicated to agile methodology and are big believers in ‘lean’ (which means we don’t do documentation for documentation's sake). We know the importance of validating assumptions about users and use various types of testing to figure out whether we're right (or wrong). Our bottom line is improving our user’s experience—no matter what.

More about Atlassian

In 2002, our founders, Scott Farquhar and Mike Cannon-Brookes, set conventional wisdom on its ear by launching a successful enterprise software company with no sales force. From Australia. With just $10K in credit card debt. All because the traditional 9-to-5 scared them to death. Today a lot has changed. With more than 80,000 global customers (including 85 of the Fortune 100) and, we’re advancing the art of team collaboration with products like Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Hipchat, and Trello–and we’re just getting started. Our mission is to help all types of teams realize their visions and get stuff done. But, one thing that'll never change is our propensity to do things a little differently.
