Software Engineer 3 (Pega)

  • Ability to code in Java/JavaScript to overcome PRPC and PRPC UI limitations
  • PRPC CPM experience preferred
  • 3 or more years’ experience required of designing/developing PRPC; at least 5 years’ experience preferred
  • 3 or more years’ experience in web-related and client-server/web service applications development such as Web services, WSDL, SOAP, UI
  • 2 or more years’ experience in one or more of the following areas (or combination thereof): Telecommunications industry, Insurance/Claims industry, Relevant IT Discipline
  • BS in engineering, mathematics, computer science or related field required
  • Proficient understanding of SDLC processes required
  • Be proficient in application development skills for more than one technology as well as proficient in multiple design techniques and in multiple business disciplines / functions.
  • Be able to lead software development efforts and deliver solutions using PEGA application framework and workflow
  • Skill in diagnosing and solving problems and providing technical analysis
  • Ability to lead cross functional team efforts;
  • Evaluate and develop systems and procedures that are reliable, effective and meet user requirements;
  • Create specifications and design details of solutions;
  • Analyze business requirements from end users and recommend appropriate solutions; design and develop solutions based on users’ requirement specification;
  • Perform unit testing and assist in integration and end user testing; and create functional and technical design documentation of implementations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with defining and implementing the release process
  • Mentor and coach junior developers and contractors on the team both onsite and offshore;
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Represent the Asurion technical team in client and business meetings
