SCM Planning Analyst



The Planning Analyst, Supply Chain Planning will be responsible for theSKU creation and bill of material management functions of the global supplychain for all clients and product types. This position will also supportplanning replacement matrix optimization for greater than $400 Million (annual)of repaired phone inventory, several thousand mobile handsets and correspondingskus, across all of Asurion’s direct fulfill clients. The Planning Analyst is responsible forproviding accessory material forecast requirements to the global procurementteam based on the delivery plans from internal and external suppliers.

The Planning Analyst will assist in the short and long-term strategicdirection for aspects specific to supplier build plans, including plans todrive profitability through increased production of remanufacturedequipment. The Planning Analyst willassist in promoting synergy among all business support groups of the globalsupply chain, and primarily does this by influencing the teams and peers inProcurement, Supplier Management as well as Operations, to ensure departmentalresults are delivered in accordance with the Supply Chain Planning strategicplan and Company Core Values.


  • Assist in the data upload / creation of all newmodel launches and all associated bill of materials
  • Devise plans and develop, maintain and improveupon best in class performance in forecasting, inventory levels, servicelevels, and E&O expense for accessories used on repaired devices
  • Assist in the development, implementation, andmanagement of the replacement matrix for an annual inventory spend in excess ofover $400 million and several thousand SKU’s across multiple sites, domesticand international
  • Lead and influence in a highly matrixedenvironment and have significant interaction with functional teams such asProcurement, Supplier Management, Client Services, Risk Management, Finance,and Operations
  • Devise Supply Chain Planning strategy andcollaborate with Procurement and Finance to develop plans, both long-term andshort-term, and reporting, to optimize equipment costs while maintainingcustomer experience (like-for-like, fill rate, etc.)
  • Build and maintain communication channels amongall operational groups within the supply chain through information sharing,thought leadership, and tactical and strategic planning
  • Deliver analysis and data on supply chainperformance (for planning and procurement – inventory levels, equipment costs,etc.)
  • Drive actions to increase profitability throughmanaging all aspects of the phone lifecycle


  • Very detail oriented to identify opportunitiesto maximize repaired units and capture trends early
  • Strong ability to move between tactical andstrategic aspects of business
  • Proven ability to set direction, clearlyarticulate a strong point of view and influence others
  • Exceptional financial and analytical skills,including deep knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
  • Knowledge of Asurion operations highly preferred
  • High energy and a desire to work in aresults-oriented, fast growth environment
  • Intellectual curiosity, passion forproblem-solving and comfort with ambiguity
  • Able to assess a variety of information, drawsimilarities and compile actionable recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills


  • 1-3 years of relevant experience, preferably inSupply Chain management or Global Procurement
  • BS Supply Chain Management or othertechnical/mathematical field
  • MBA with quantitative background or otherAdvanced Degree preferred but not required
