Operations Engineer

The Operations Engineer I is functionally competent and working toward functional expertise in the field of software engineering as it relates to the business objectives of Asurion. This position is responsible for supporting the Products in the HR and Finance Services portfolio to include Workday and Kronos SaaS application, as well as various other applications, in both integrations and configurations. Process documentation skills are a considerable plus. There are clearly defined internal processes that all team members will be expected to adhere to.


  • Develops effective, maintainable code in a timely fashion
  • Follows established coding standards and techniques
  • Conducts code reviews with peers and management
  • Works with Technology Analysts (TAs) on business requirements to determine solution
  • Maintains proficiency in the applications and use of systems, tools, and processes within the department's scope:
    • Work with TA's and end users on business requirements to define and develop the right solution
    • Documentation of all aspects of system configuration, process standardization, and daily operations and support
    • Consults with all team members to support system development and evaluate alternatives to systems modifications
    • Support regional customers
  • Maintains proficiency in the business processes that drive the applications within the department's scope
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Asurion's applications and system integration
  • Assists with the compilation of status notifications for business stakeholders and Client Relations
  • Ensures code complies with security policies and guidelines
Experience and Educational Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field required
  • Some experience of software development required
  • Specific knowledge/experience in most of the following preferred: XML, Web Services, HTML, SQL
  • Proficient understanding of SDLC processes is a plus
  • Knowledge of/experience with common business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel, Word and Visio preferred
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must maintain a HIGH level of ownership and see assignments through to completion based on agreed upon deadlines
