As a Database Developer 4 on the Back Office CTS Team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and running mission-critical data systems that support Asurion's billing platform globally. We solve challenging and unique problems and innovate quickly. We embrace continuous delivery and Agile principles. We are building small, empowered teams that have clear goals and success measures, and leverage the creativity of all members of the team.

Here's what you can expect to do:

  • Architect and build data solutions and frameworks that address current and future billing initiatives in AWS
  • Design, develop and implement highly available data architectures
  • Assist with on-premise legacy solutions as needed, refactor legacy solutions into cloud-based solutions, and oversee data migrations
  • Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements
  • Operate with a mindset that ensures that data is optimally secure and private
  • Advise/consult with software engineers and web developers on the creation of queries and database functions
  • Identify and apply proactive solutions and corrective measures to minimize downtime
  • Ensure solutions align with a continuous delivery mindset
  • Develop and support ETL processes
  • Execute performance tuning
  • Work as part of a team of 3-5 engineers focused on utilizing Agile to build world-class products
  • Have 1 on 1's, coach, and develop software engineers of varying experience levels
  • Partner with product owners and design peers to take advantage of new technologies and continuously deliver value to the organization
  • This position is roughly 70% database architecture and development, 10% database administration, 10% ETL development and 10% other tasks.

Our ideal candidate
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of database development experience supporting application development teams/projects
  • 3+ years working in an AWS Cloud Environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with data event streaming nice to have
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL and Oracle desired
  • Data analytics and business intelligence experience desirable
  • Strong experience with ETL job development and maintenance preferred
  • Related experience in the billing industry desirable
  • AWS certified solutions architect desirable
