Business Intelligence Analyst

JOB TITLE: Sr. Analyst/Manager, Retail Marketing Analytics



Marketing Analytics team at Asurion helps the company make informed decisions. As experts in program sales performance and drivers, we inform, advise, and recommend data driven decision making and performance optimization.

As a member of the Marketing Analytics team, this role will use Asurion's BI platform to collect, organize and analyze large datasets using both internal and external data sources, identify insights, create dashboards and reports, and publish findings to stakeholders including senior leadership to help drive Asurion's Americas Retail business performance.

The insights and information from the analysis will support decisions that drive program sales, investments and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical skills, strong business acumen, familiarity with big data analysis tools and techniques, critical thinking proficiency, and solid communication skills. The candidate must be customer-centric and be able to balance the demands of a rapidly growing, complex entrepreneurial environment where ingenuity, rather than precedence, drives how things should be done.


  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards and data visualizations that support business performance and data-driven decision making
  • Monitor, interpret, and report on Asurion's Retail sales KPIs
  • Conduct deep dive analysis into areas like sales performance, pricing, merchandizing
  • Champion the use of Asurion's BI platform in MicroStrategy across the business, including providing training to end users on the tool
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business-critical performance analysis and reporting requirements, and to manage execution
  • Interact with account management and IT to define, and maintain, the infrastructure and processes to source client data in a consistent and timely manner
  • Provide input on architecture of Data Model and ETL processes based on business requirements and in-depth knowledge of data sources
  • Package and communicate trends and insights to key stakeholders including senior leadership in a timely and effective manner
  • Interpret data from multiple sources and use data as the basis for business decisions
  • Create/improve data analytics and reporting processes wherever appropriate and applicable, and work cross functionally to drive automation
  • Interact positively and pro-actively between departments to promote effective collaboration
  • Be a trusted partner and go-to contact for key stakeholders on performance metrics and drivers
  • Support short and long-term sales forecasting and planning processes

  • Required
    • Bachelor's in a quantitative discipline such as analytics, engineering, computer science, statistics, data management, etc.
    • 2+ years' experience in data analysis and modeling, business intelligence, reporting or any combination of these roles
    • 2+ years' experience using advanced Excel functions
    • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as PowerBI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, Spotfire, etc.
    • Demonstrated hands-on experience using SQL
    • Proven experience using data to inform business decision making and/or to drive results
    • Experience working with large data sets and using tools and frameworks to manage, analyze and visualize data to identify trends and report findings
    • Understanding of statistical analysis tools and techniques
  • Preferred
    • Familiarity with Agile Project Management
    • Sales and/or marketing operations / analysis experience
    • Working knowledge of data mining and management principles
    • Experience or willingness to learn using data analysis packages such as R, SAS, SPSS, etc. for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and/or visualization
    • Masters Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science or Predictive Analytics
    • Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica
