Product Manager- Nonwovens

General Scope of Responsibilities:

Support the Nonwoven Business in North and South America primarily by being the technical liaison between customers and the AstenJohnson organization/production. The duties include: managing the product lifecycle, prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with internal and external technical resources to deliver winning products

Specific Tasks:

  • Perform product presentations to customers and provide technical support and customer recommendations as needed
  • Provide recommendations of the application of products
  • Maintain technical specifications database for the region
  • Deliver product ideas with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Develop the core positioning and trial management plans for the product
  • Responsible for roll out and implementation of new processes and policies regarding these products
  • Responsible for insuring that accurate technical/customer information is communicated internally to assure trial success
  • Develop sales tools, references and training on focus products
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Coach and train the sales force at regular sales meetings and contacts
  • Ensure that technical properties of product portfolio meet market demands
  • Participate actively in the product rationalization and its timely implementation
  • Participate in the creation of the advertising and promotional programs around the product line
  • Acts as a bridge between the field and CIT regarding field problems and their resolution
  • Prepare customer visit reports from sales, internal reports, news related to business; as well as technical reports
  • Follow-up of new trials
  • Coordinate product development

Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel 70% (some lite international travel); currently reside in the South East
  • Prior experience in Nonwovens with Spun-bond experience is a must
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Able to influence cross-functional teams

Education requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree or better (Engineering preferred)

Working relationships:

  • Reports to Global Business Leader
  • Works with Sales, Inside sales, R&D (ARC), Operations and Quality Manager

This position has no supervisory duties.
