SEM Specialist

The Asana marketing team is focused on driving growth and building a brand that customers love. We focus not only on acquiring users, but also on creating content and campaigns that nurture existing teams and drive them to upgrade. Our team is growing rapidly, and includes team members focused on product marketing, content creation, partnerships, ads, and lifecycle marketing.

We are looking for an SEM Specialist to drive growth and lead our paid search efforts. As the SEM expert on the team, you will be responsible for strategizing and executing global paid search and biddable media campaigns that that enable Asana to acquire new users efficiently and at scale. This is a hands-on role that will manage all aspects of Asana’s paid search program; the ideal candidate should be well on their way to becoming a “full-stack” search marketer. You’ll work alongside 3 dedicated ad specialists, and collaborate with the marketing, data science, and finance teams to make sure our advertising program achieves our business goals. This is a great opportunity for someone who has deep experience with paid search, but wants to expand their knowledge of how paid and organic strategies come together to drive growth


  • Day-to-day management of Asana’s paid search campaigns across all platforms
  • Strategizing and launching keyword expansion, landing page, and ad copy tests that drive continual performance improvements
  • Building out search program reporting and analytics that enable us to easily monitor performance and identify areas of opportunity and concern
  • Collaborating with Asana’s web development team to develop landing pages that optimize the post-click experience
  • Working with the rest of the marketing team to devise full-funnel search strategies and support new initiatives and launches


  • You have 2-4 years hands-on experience managing large-scale paid search campaigns
  • You’re well-versed in the tactical aspects of paid search such as keyword research, bid optimizations, sitelink implementation, ad copy development, negative implementation, and landing page testing
  • You’re obsessed with getting the most bang for your digital marketing buck; you crave data, can run A/B tests in your sleep, and are well on your way to being an Excel master
  • You’re very comfortable working with key marketing metrics such as CPA, CPC, CPM, and LTV
  • You understand how paid search drives business growth, and are interested in learning how it fits into the freemium/SaaS business model
  • You keep up with what’s happening in the world of SEM, and are eager to apply what you’ve learned about keyword strategies, new ad copy formats, bidding rules, and AdWords betas
  • You’re excited to spread the word about Asana and help us reach new users
