Hands-on technical engineer whose responsibilities include but are not limited to providing engineering design and technical support for an enterprise class Windows Server and Global Active Directory infrastructure environment including virtualization technologies.

Candidates should exhibit a broad-based technology background, possess excellent troubleshooting skills and be creative innovators with a proven track record of engineering, deploying and supporting Microsoft Server hardware, software and related technologies.

Candidate Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or 3 –5 years related business experience in a fast paced corporate environment. Windows Server MSCE and other technical certifications would be considered a plus.

3 – 5 years experience in supporting a Windows server environment (Windows server 2008, 2012, Active Directory, VMware, Citrix, MS SQL, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Etc.).

Successful candidate must have the ability to closely interact with different business units to address support needs, gather and implement business requirements.

Must have the ability to multi-task and track the status of multiple projects and issues at once.

Candidates should have strong written and verbal communications skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Active Directory 2008
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and One Drive for Business
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and database administration
  • Familiarity with Powershell or any other form of scripting and automation

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Administer and provide day to day engineering and operational support for the server environment.

Lead effort to develop technical standards to support and operate technologies within the current or future platform.

Provide technical support for a mission critical corporate Windows server environment including server installs, migrations, upgrades, patch management, application support, virus remediation, business continuity, operational and disaster recovery.

Responsible for the setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all Windows Servers and related technologies.

Provides technical administrative and configuration support for the following platforms: Windows Server 2008, 2012, Global Active Directory / Group Policy, VMware, MS SQL Server, and other related technologies.

Provide technical support for the desktop computing environment.

Procurement of necessary hardware, software, and licensing.

Candidates will participate in a variety of engineering related projects including but not limited to:

  • Facilities branch office additions, consolidations, closures
  • Participate in strategic engineering planning and road map sessions
  • Research & development, proof of concept evaluations
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and simulation testing

Ensures systems high availability and data protection through the use of internal and external resources. This includes ensuring all Windows Server, Active Directory and supported applications security issues are reported to management and are remediated in a timely fashion.

Communicates and coordinates system maintenance requirements and risk assessment for all supported hardware, software, backups, patch updates and downtime to end-users, management and operations staff.

Proactive monitoring, alerting, reporting, capacity planning and analysis.

Participate in budget planning and cost savings initiatives.

Prepares and maintains systems and application support documentation, Visio diagrams for system configurations which are directly supported.

24×7 On-call technical support on a rotation basis

Domestic and international travel when required up to 5%
