This position supports the Logistics Team in directing the activities of the Shipping, Picking, and/or Receiving area. This individual is responsible for directing, organizing, and communication for a designated area in the warehouse. They will oversee and manage the daily operations of their area with a team of 15 – 30 employees including performance management, payroll, scheduling, and tracking of production/quality.
Logistic Value Add Supervisor II interfaces with other supervisors and leads in the collection and analysis of data and to ensure an efficient operation and maximum utilization of available human and material resources. Additional responsibilities include maintaining key metrics and 5S audits throughout the facility. Attending all appropriate meetings and participating and facilitating Quality Circles, Stand in Circles as well as updating weekly/monthly reports. Tracking data and reviewing data to provide feedback on ways to improve production/quality is a requirement. A strong focus on service and service standards is required to maintain customer service excellence. Create and maintain strong relationships with sales and SSG by following up with requests for research and customer service issues and respond appropriately is a priority. The Supervisor II is also responsible for supervising assigned leads, branch services and non-conforming groups.
Additionally, use Kaizen methodology to correct deficiencies in processes that create losses. Participate in process improvement on a regular basis. Assist with customer tours of facility. Individual will maintain a high level of employee morale and integrity in the department through positive motivation, development and training. Direct daily operations of the shift consistent with established productivity, service level and quality standards. Maintain performance reports to include internal and external quality, weekly and monthly shift productivity. Take disciplinary action when necessary in accordance with Arrow policy and procedures. Evaluate operational procedures and present for consideration of improved methods.
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Bachelor Degree in Logistics Management or related field preferred.
- Ability to analyze PDC data, create charts and reports based on data
- Ability to manage people and processes
- Demonstrate well developed leadership and organizational skills
- Project oriented with the ability to follow through on long-term goals
- Ability to handle multi-tasking, excel in fast paced environment, and with a high degree of dependability and integrity.
- MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics Management, Industrial Engineering
- Working knowledge of material handling equipment
- WMS experience
Additional Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean concepts, 5S
- Ability to easily interpret and use statistics in day-to-day decision-making
- Basic statistical modeling
- Project management concepts/principles
- Root Cause Analysis, Pareto and flow charts
Evaluating processes to optimize product handling, product flow and layouts
