Position:materials planning specialist III
PURPOSE AND SCOPE: The Program Planner will be responsible for the timely and accurate planning of material to support Converge's customers in the Service Parts Management Programs. They will work directly with the customer, the customer reports, Converge internal reports from multiple channels, and the internal Converge buyers to determine what material will need to be purchased to meet the customer's demand. DUTIES / ACTIVITIES: Ensure forecast data is received in a timely manner and in the correct format. Maintain accurate customer forecasts, BOM's, AVL's, and any other necessary data to ensure accurate planning information is available. Be able to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment to design planning/forecasting processes which have cross-functional touch points. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers. Provide necessary reporting metrics to the Program Manager. Must be able to react promptly to any internal or supplier issues which demand alternative sourcing. Must proactively communicate anticipated supply shortfalls and escalate to proper personnel, both internal and external, and make recommendations to minimize the impact to the customer. Establish inventory strategies and goals that support overall business plan. Manage purchased part lead times and message those lead times to customers. Plan and execute the flow of externally procured material from the supplier to the customer. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS Bachelor's degree preferred. At least 3 years experience in material planning required. Proficiency with MS Excel, Access, and Outlook is required. Some experience in high tech supplier and materials management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written. Fluent in English. Ability to work effectively across organizations and cultural boundaries. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proven data analysis skills required.
