The Global Marketing Specialist is a critical interface point between the operating unit and the regional Arrow sales force. This role represents the operating unit to Arrow’s suppliers within the various regions and as a member of a global team, is a close collaborator with other members of the team. The Global Marketing Specialist is the primary point of contact for regional sales and product marketing within their assigned regions(s) or other defined areas of responsibility. As such, they must be able to quickly and autonomously service a majority of pricing, delivery, and support requests. The Global Marketing Specialist will engage local selling organizations through training, local customer visits, local quote strategies, and other activities necessary to support and accelerate sales of the group’s product portfolio as needed. In addition, the person in this role will provide managers and other team members with reports, analysis, and recommendations necessary to meet or exceed the group’s growth and operational objectives.
Engages in strategic conversations with global sales leaders to strategize on global opportunities while leveraging influential supplier relationships to develop sales strategies and goals for product group.
Investigates price anomalies across regions and works to maintain one global design win (DW) price.
Identifies suppliers not franchised in all regions and instigates a global quote as well as global support.
Leads conversations with team members to strategize on global quoting opportunities. Identifies and helps resolve obstacles to global quoting effort (both with Arrow and the supplier).
Creates/manages customer AVL and uses this to negotiate global package deals.
As a fully-qualified professional, normally receives limited instructions on routine work. Will work directly with suppliers and regional business partners to make recommendations related to pricing & profitability for product line. Has autonomy to work with suppliers and Arrow leaders to make strategic decisions as they relate to product and pricing strategy & profitability.
Ability to build and maintain internal/external professional relationships with suppliers, reps and sales personnel at a global level. Internal contacts, regularly with sales reps, supplier marketing Director, GM, Director & VP level globally.
6+ years experience in the electronic components industry and at least 2 years of product or sales relationship management with suppliers.
Demonstrated sales & results experience.
Minimum 2 years product experience.
Strong interpersonal skills that can build relationships from the ground up.
Able to analyze market data for trending analysis.
Strong communication and diplomacy skills are a must.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of global competition.
