Buyer Planner I

As a Buyer/Planner you will oversee inventory pipeline and needs to meet customer demand using a combination of system information and specialized reports. Proactively review & approve recommendations as required to ensure on-time delivery of product as well as product availability. Provide assistance and direction to Sales team to ensure contractually required levels of inventory are satisfied

Responsibilities:

  • Review, analyze and interpret various reports to determine requirements based on material availability, inventory levels and lead times.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis, develop corrective actions and test and implement processes related to QA and supply chain concerns.
  • Proactively resolve problem situations with suppliers and various company departments while remaining within company inventory guidelines.
  • Manage inventory to financial goals
  • Provide assistance and direction to other stakeholders in the supply chain process to discover / eliminate inefficiencies or adjustments involving the customer and/or AEP/Arrow.
  • Support all non-contract material requirements for the customer and its related sub-contractors.
  • Take a proactive role in the promotion of good communications between all functional areas and the supplier base.
  • Procure material to support current and future demand across the global organization
  • accountable for maintaining inventory within company goals and for minimizing stock-outs of A & B items
  • Position is also accountable for maintaining the integrity of system information; resolving accounting, receiving and customer rejected concerns; ensuring on-time delivery to customers from suppliers; and for supporting sales to increase business
  • In addition, position provides assistance to Product Manager in all areas of Product Management and may provide back-up support in the absence of the Product Manager
  • Create purchase orders and ensure appropriate delivery.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain product, price, availability, and delivery information.

Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent technical training and experience (i.e. working in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment requiring ongoing problem solving/analytical skills)
  • 2-4 years related experience
  • Prior knowledge & experience with financial/profitability concepts & models
  • Strong Analytical Skills
  • Strong PC Literacy on MS Office Applications
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for customer service

Preferred Requirements:

  • Direct applicable experience (e.g. replenishment buyer/specialist, inventory specialist, re-stock buyer, wholesale/retail buyer) strongly preferred.
  • Exhibits the analytical and problem solving ability necessary to make effective buying decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high transaction environment with strong organizational, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Solid ability to perform basic math calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in order to develop effective relationships with individuals and groups inside and outside the organization
  • Exhibits a strong customer service orientation with a strong sense of urgency to responding to internal customer needs
  • Experience in Military/Aerospace industry
