Job Description

Description of Responsibilities:

  • To support the selling function of the boutique by managing the areas of shipping/receiving, point-of-sale, human resources, building maintenance, operating budgets/invoicing/expenses and collaborating with the Alterations Manager and the Loss/Prevention Manager to support the operations of their respective departments.
  • To insure that all policies, procedures and operational directives are enforced consistently and effectively
  • To assist all departments in establishing organizational and systematic approaches to their goals
  • To ensure that each associate is fully trained in all operational areas

Overview of Critical Duties:

Policy and Procedure

  • Understand, abide by and enforce all policies and procedures as outlined in the Store Operations Manual, Human Resources Manual and Cashiering Manual
  • Insure that the above mentioned manuals are kept current and organized
  • Insure that all management staff are aware of their responsibilities and duties in relation to the above mentioned manuals

Store Facility

  • Supervise and maintain the store facility inclusive of all cleaning, repair and replacement
  • Coordinate and manage all facility construction and renovation
  • Maintain and update all required permits and inspection certificates
  • Supervise all inspection visits
  • Maintain and replace lighting and electrical systems
  • Insure organization of all back office areas inclusive of shipping/receiving, cash/wrap desks, office space, maintenance rooms, alterations, etc

Equipment and Systems

  • Maintain all store equipment inclusive of office equipment (i.e. copy machine, fax machine, mail meter, etc.), computer equipment (i.e. hard drive, soft drive, monitor, keyboard, software, etc.), register equipment (hard drive, soft drive, credit card Zon, monitor, keyboard, cash drawer, etc.), alterations equipment (sewing machines, pressers, steamers, etc.), music systems, telephones, ticket machines, scanners, etc.
  • Maintain and manage all store systems inclusive of Retek, STS, TimeTrak, RAS, telephone system, voice mail system, music-on-hold, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records of repair and maintenance


  • Control store expenses and insure accurate records of all store expenses
  • Maintain and provide all backup documentation for Monthly General Manager's Expense Analysis Report
  • Process all store invoices and expenses
  • Manage all petty cash processes
  • Insure all bank deposits are deposited daily
  • Supervise and monitor all safe activity
  • Insure proper procedures with all cash, credit card and check processing


  • Supervise and insure completion of all inventories and cycle count preparation
  • Facilitate the corporate directives in regards to inventories and cycle counts
  • Supervise the inventory and cycle count processes
  • Insure all management staff are aware of their responsibilities and duties towards inventory and cycle counts
  • Manage the reconciliation process for inventories and cycle counts

Human Resources

  • Insure all associates complete the orientation process
  • Insure all Human Resources paperwork (inclusive of training, payroll and benefits paperwork) is processed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Insure all associate are aware of and abide by all Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Manage and provide subordinates with clear directives to accomplish goals
  • Resolve all interpersonnel issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Recruit subordinates and provide succession planning
  • Provide and document performance counseling when appropriate
  • Insure consistent standards of image and grooming
  • Insure timely and effective annual performance appraisals
  • Participate in staff meetings and training seminars
  • Insure proper processing of and integrity of payroll
  • For locations with Armani Cafes, support the Café Manager by insuring accurate and timely completions of paperwork and payroll

Loss Prevention

  • Collaborate with and support Loss/Prevention department in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication and L/P audits


  • Collaborate with and support Alterations department in all areas of quality control, inter-store communication, productivity reports and supply management


  • Manage, insure training of and develop the point-of-sale staff
  • Insure all associates are aware of and abide by Point-of-sale policy and procedure


  • Manage, insure training of and develop the shipping/receiving staff
  • Insure all staff are aware of and abide by shipping/receiving policies and procedures


  • Maintain and order all supplies necessary for operation of store


  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
  • College degree or equivalent required
  • 3+ years in related retail setting with emphasis on operations, store management or office administration
