Job Description

Description of Responsibilities:

  • To recruit, develop, guide and train a staff that is dedicated to driving the business
  • To achieve and surpass business goals
  • To insure smooth operation of boutique at all times
  • To provide and maintain a proactive business plan while maintain peak productivity in all areas
  • To insure all merchandise is handled appropriately and inventory is accounted for and monitored

Overview of Critical Duties:

Sales Performance

  • Meet and/or exceed the sales goals
  • Analyze store sales reports to determine the needs of the business and set business strategies
  • Track, monitor and communicate business results
  • Seek out new ways to increase business
  • Support the development of associate's sales techniques to maximize sales
  • Respond to business needs with urgency
  • Insure all sales related policies and procedures are maintained
  • Coordinate with advertising and public relations to support maximum sales

Product Knowledge

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the merchandise
  • Seek to increase product knowledge amongst staff
  • Maintain a keen interest in market trends
  • Maintain a consistent awareness of the competition
  • Utilize product knowledge to increase sales
  • Identify product concerns in a timely manner


  • Implement and maintain all merchandising directives and insure execution of effective merchandising strategies
  • Build and maintain communication with the buyer
  • Provide written and verbal information as requested by the merchandising department
  • Insure deliveries are properly processed in a timely manner
  • Insure the selling floor is neat, clean, organized and reflects the correct visual image at all times
  • Insure presentation of all displays, fixtures and all visual areas


  • Possess continual thorough knowledge of stock levels
  • Monitor inventory to control shrinkage, ticketing, sensors, and proper/organized storage
  • Supervise the staff in regards to inventory maintenance and controls
  • Communicate inventory needs to support the business goal
  • Monitor the movement of all inventory and insure proper shipment
  • Reconcile all inventory discrepancies in a timely and effective manner


  • Insure facility maintenance, presentation and organization
  • Insure all associates are aware of and abide by all Operations Manual policies and procedures as well as operations directives
  • Control store expenses and maintain operating budgets continually striving to reduce costs

Human Resources

  • Recruit, train and develop staff insuring all management positions are filled in a timely fashion with qualified personnel
  • Insure integrity of payroll and the payroll process
  • Insure all Human Resources paperwork is processed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Insure all associates are aware of and abide by all Human Resources Manual policies and procedures as well as Human Resources directives
  • Insure consistent standard of image and grooming at all times
  • Approve schedules to maintain coverage while avoiding overtime
  • Continually evaluates the performance of each associate and provide constant feedback to insure results
  • Resolve all interpersonnel issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Support, implement and provide follow-up for training programs, seminars, etc.
  • Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis
  • Provide and document progressive counseling when appropriate
  • Insure timely and effective annual performance appraisals

Client Service/Clienteling

  • Insure that all associates provide the highest level of client service
  • Maintain floor presence to assist clients, build rapport and monitor client interaction with staff
  • Acknowledge all clients
  • Recognize repeat clients and encourage client relationship; maintain communication and community presence
  • Insure staff maintains and utilizes all client records
  • Insure staff maintains constant communication with client
  • Resolve all client problems and complaints quickly and effectively
  • Identify and implement new methods of increasing client base
  • Monitor client purchases and client database and utilize information to increase sales and client contact

Loss Prevention

  • Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, store cash controls, inventory management, inter-store communication and L/P audits
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to loss/prevention and adheres by all Loss Prevention Manual policies and procedures as well as Loss Prevention directives


  • Support and promote the Point-of-Sale process in all areas of register procedure, protocol and policies
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to Point-of-Sales and adheres to all policies and procedure
  • Insure staff is trained in all areas of appropriate register/customer profile/style locator use and maintenance
  • Understand and properly execute all management register functions, inclusive of opening and closing procedures\


  • Monitor the Shipping/Receiving staff in all areas of stock, shipping, receiving protocol/ policies/procedures and shipping/receiving related paperwork
  • Insure staff is aware of their responsibilities to Shipping/Receiving and adheres to all policies and procedures

Special Events

  • Manage all special events
  • Provide recaps of all store events


  • Computer proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Language skills not required but desirable
  • 5+ years of management experience in a similar high end related field
  • Experience in buying and/or merchandising
  • Sales background
