Project Pricing Actuary (Part-Time)

Main Purpose of Role

To be a project based pricing actuary within the international pricing team supporting the initiative to improve the current suite of pricing models and portfolio analysis tools on the key priority lines of business.

Please note that this is a part-time position (3-4 days/ week).

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop review and enhancement of the pricing models for prioritised lines of business including price monitoring.
  • Perform portfolio analysis in supporting Underwriting strategy for prioritised lines of business
  • Explore and implement advanced pricing methods in collaboration with the predictive analytics team.
  • Build effective working relationships with the Underwriting department, providing training and support to underwriting teams where necessary.
  • Examine historic loss information (internal and external data) across the portfolios to enhance the performance of the accounts.
  • Assist with the parameterisation of the internal model.
  • Ad hoc analyses to support management as required.
  • Manage and collaborate group wide pricing projects.

  • Flexibility: Respond to demand for actuarial support across the organisation

  • Qualified Actuary or extensive experience of Actuarial work
  • 2:1 in a highly numerate degree.

Technical Skills & Experience
  • 10 Years + Actuarial experience in a London Market Environment
  • Deep knowledge and experience in actuarial pricing techniques
  • Excellent Excel, VBA and Access skills.
  • Experience using R and SQL desirable.
