Crater Lake Hospitality (CLH) has a number of aggressive sustainability goals (including goals in waste diversion, energy conservation, and water conservation) and is looking to support those efforts through this pilot internship program. Activities with the team also include trips to Bend and Medford as well as horseback riding and river floats.

Aramark's Step Up to Leadership (S2L) Paid Internship Program targets motivated college underclassmen and rising seniors who are eager to gain valuable business skills and leadership experience. The S2L Program is designed to provide students with key experiences, expertise, and resources to help position them competitively for full-time positions post-graduation.

S2L interns gain relevant work experience, mentorship from industry leaders, and professional training to help them pursue what matters to them, both personally and professionally. Throughout the course of this premiere internship program, interns have the unique opportunity to take on leadership roles within Aramark while participating in structured program activities and development exercises.

Job Responsibilities

Interns will live the solution by supporting CLH through basic key functions that have a big impact on sustainability. This intern position is part of a cohort of interns tasked with integrating sustainability into key functions.

  • Interns will rotate through three entry-level positions including:
    • Dish Machine Operator
    • Housekeeping
    • Retail


  • Interns will lead sustainability in their operational unit (Food and Beverage, retail stores, and housekeeping)


  • Interns will work with supervisors in their operational units and the sustainability manager to embed sustainability into operational practices through day-to-day operations and through the green team.


  • Interns will gain an introduction to hospitality operations and gain varied experience across multiple operational departments.


  • Interns will gain experience problem-solving for sustainability in a hospitality setting and be empowered to support and lead sustainability practices under the guidance of the sustainability manager.


  • Interns will spend four hours per week learning and discussing sustainability principles and identifying solutions with the remaining 36 hours spent living the solution completing basic roles critical to sustainability goals and implementing sustainability into those functions.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program at a 4-year college or university - All majors welcomed; Eligible candidates must be graduating after August 2023.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by Aramark for this position now or in the future.
  • Aramark does not offer housing with the exception of our remote Aramark Destinations locations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Must work well in both team and individualized tasks.
  • Leadership skills, inclusive of supervisory responsibilities, team lead in a club/organization, and/or project management.
  • The ability to communicate in an appropriate, clear, and concise manner with customers, clients, employees and leadership.
  • Dynamic working skills to handle change and ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Budget responsibilities or inventory management experience a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends or holidays according to business need.
