International Controller- Vice President

Job Description

As the Vice President - International Controller, you will provide financial leadership and oversight across the enterprise including building key relationships with leaders from all international entities. This position will be responsible for advancing financial processes and standards across Aramark's International entities, including reviewing, designing and implementing consistent, appropriate internal controls and procedures to support strategic goals and desired business outcomes. This position will report to the Senior Vice President Finance - International.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure global consistency in accounting and financial reporting policies and practices in accordance with US GAAP
  • Partner with International Accounting and Finance leadership to understand unique business and accounting matters, and ensure appropriate internal control and reconciliation procedures are in place, including reviewing the reconciliation of material and/or highly judgmental accounts
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting team and Internal Audit to ensure that process and controls with Corporate are efficient, including compliance with SOX control requirements
  • Support the International team with merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence efforts
  • Assist in assessing, training, and developing the International Accounting team to build a deep technical knowledge in US GAAP and international accounting standards and policies
  • Partner with the VP of HR - International on HR and Organizational matters impacting financial support and processing
  • Assist IT with new systems implementations or upgrades to ensure consistency and accuracy of transactions
  • Support the Treasury and Tax functions in ensuring entity structures are supporting business objectives and operating efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with all Aramark policies, regulations, and laws where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and previous experience in a "Big 4" Accounting firm.
  • CPA required
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • 10+ years of combined experience in accounting and international business in a corporate accounting environment
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP, International Financial Reporting Standards and accounting theory
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and Blackline, or similar applications
  • Visionary leader with strong ability to prioritize, plan, lead and implement projects globally
  • Executive presence; ability to work effectively with people from a wide variety of cultures, utilizing strong written and oral communications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a wide range of audiences including clients, front line managers, C-level leaders (headquarters and segment)
  • Ability to understand complex accounting matters, complex statutory financial statements and troubleshoot issues
  • Experience with organization transformation process improvement
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity, and flexibility
  • Capability of handling/managing confidential material with discretion
  • Ability to grasp a complex business at a base level and use this understanding to set overall strategy and drive business process improvement
