Job Description

The Dietary Worker provides food service to our long term care and Assisted Living residents.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare beverage carts

Set up dining rooms

Provide hand sanitizing wipes to residents

Deliver Beverage, salad, or soup carts, and or meal carts as scheduled.

Take temperatures of foods to be served to residents, and seek remedial action or assistance, if temperature(s) are outside of acceptable range.

Complete daily temperature checks of equipment as scheduled, and inform manager of temperatures outside of prescribed ranges.

Serve meals to residents, ensuring that allergies, preferences, and Dietary consistencies are followed.

Provide ongoing feedback and comments to managers about resident preferences, and challenges.

Follow cleaning schedule (daily, weekly, monthly, etc) as outlined for scheduled Dietary position, and, or as needed.

Wash dishes, glasses, and pots and pans, and other kitchen items.

Neatly store clean dishware, and pots and pans-making sure that they are dry when stored.

Clean floors: Dry mop, wet mop, squeegee away water, to ensure proper sanitation, and a SAFE work area.

Assists in receiving and storing Food and supplies

Empties garbage, and cleans trash receptacles.

Disposes of refuse in designated bin (use ladders provided to access bins)

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and/or call center experience preferred
• Experience in food service, as a dietary clerk, or in a related field preferred
• Needs to communicate fluently in the English language, bilingual or multilingual a plus.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Comfort with using technology including web-based software, keyboard, and telephone headset for the majority of shift. Typical typing of 35 - 45 wpm.
• Must be flexible and adaptable to change.
