AppNexus is looking for a Senior Manager, Account Management to manage a small team of Account Managers whilst also growing a select book of business consisting of some of AppNexus’ strategic publisher clients in Northern Europe. Responsibilities include cultivating senior client relationships to understand clients’ business needs and consult on the application of AppNexus’ technology to achieve their goals. Alongside this, the Senior Manager will empower and support direct reports in achieving similar goals within their own books of business. The Senior Manager must have a mix of revenue driving, technical, and consultative selling acumen to achieve this working with a diverse set of internal stakeholders for delivery, along with the capability to maintain day to day operation of the account relationships. They must also have a keen interest in developing talent through previous experience in mentorship, people management, and/or leadership/community initiatives. Sales and Account Management is a driven and results-oriented organization that helps bring AppNexus’ digital advertising products to market. Our focus is building our clients’ businesses through leading-edge technology solutions, intuitive and effective ad serving tools, and strategic business consulting. We develop and nurture relationships with a wide range of publishers and advertisers to help them more effectively reach their target audience through real-time ad serving, allowing them to manage and grow their digital advertising business. Our team is seeking innovative, passionate, and driven people who can help build the team’s capabilities to foster strong client relationships, meet sales quotas, and drive awareness of our products.

About the job:

  • Role model positive behaviours for the Account Management team as a leader of people, in client engagements, and in internal working relationships
  • Demonstrate effective ways of working and identify areas of optimization in client interaction and internal processes to enable the success of the team
  • Foster and develop talent on an ongoing basis
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage business partnerships across Northern Europe to drive high profile client success and revenue
  • Develop a thorough understanding of clients’ business, the advertising technology industry, and the competitive landscape
  • Understand the clients’ commercial goals and objectives; create programs and projects that support those goals, helping them evolve their business to take advantage of developments in the AppNexus product suite and the advertising landscape
  • Work closely with the Solutions Consulting leadership to align on initiatives required to achieve long term customer success
  • Manage cross-functional projects (e.g. Product, client or market specific)
  • Participate in regional client events (including client forums, trainings, etc.)
  • Manage business and technical escalations from accounts directly and as a point of escalation from direct reports’ accounts. Communicate with all stakeholders to maintain momentum and ensure success


About your skills:

  • Strong track record of building and maintaining senior-level client relationships to grow large, complex accounts
  • Skill in evaluating opportunities and driving change in client businesses to exceed client and revenue expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical issues, translating them into commercially impactful plans
  • Programmatic experience (either publisher, network, or ad-tech company) preferred
  • Confidence in presenting and in written and verbal communications
  • Willingness to share knowledge, facilitate team rapport, and maintain excellent cross-functional partnerships
  • Prior people management, mentorship, or other leadership experience in a community capacity
  • Flexible schedules available to encourage work-life balance and support candidates with out-of-work responsibilities
