Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant, CorporateAppNexus acts as a financial clearinghouse for digital advertising. For the over 1,000 partners we work with, we invoice the buyers of digital advertising and remit the appropriate amount to the sellers, retaining only a small portion as our fee. The Corporate Accounting team is seeking a senior accountant to support the general month end close cycle, assist with consolidation and prepare monthly internal and external reporting packages.About the team:We are the team that literally keeps the lights on at AppNexus. We measure and report the drivers for revenue and cost, devise our tax strategy, design our capital structure, manage treasury and foreign exchange transactions, conduct financial planning and analysis through advanced use of statistical and data-mining techniques, evaluate mergers and acquisition, and assist with a variety of other special projects. We are a diverse team of mathematicians, accountants, and engineers, and we are devoted to dealing with many intellectual challenges. Our responsibilities continue to evolve due to the rapid growth of the company, which provides tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth. You’ll be interacting with many aspects of the company including Sales, Operations, R&D, HR, and Legal, as well as management at all levels.About the job:Assist in the consolidation and month end close processAnalyze financial statements to identify unusual activity and take corrective action, if necessaryPrepare variance analysis and detailed commentary for consolidated P&L and balance sheetsSupport the financial reporting process, including gathering and analyzing financial data and assist with disclosuresProvide cross-functional support to subsidiary accounting teams, FP&A, treasury, tax and payrollHelp oversee the external audits and support as neededSupport the maintenance efforts related to the General Ledger systemAbout your skills:Bachelors degree in accounting, CPA preferred3-4 years of experience in public or private environmentStrong problem solving skills, able to troubleshoot and address issuesExcellent attention to detail and desire to accurately report financial statementsStrong written and verbal communications skillsSelf-motivated and ability to work well with othersMore about you:You are passionate about a culture of learning and teaching.
