Director, Credit & CollectionsAppNexus acts as a financial clearinghouse for digital advertising. For the over 1,000 partners we work with, we invoice the buyers of digital advertising and remit the appropriate amount to the sellers, retaining only a small portion as our fee. Maintaining strong collections and minimizing credit risk is crucial to our success. We are looking for a senior leader to reinvent our approach to Credit and Collections. About the team:We are the team that literally keeps the lights on at AppNexus. We measure and report the drivers for revenue and cost, devise our tax strategy, design our capital structure, manage treasury and foreign exchange transactions, conduct financial planning and analysis through advanced use of statistical and data-mining techniques, evaluate mergers and acquisition, and assist with a variety of other special projects. We are a diverse team of mathematicians, accountants, and engineers, and we are devoted to dealing with many intellectual challenges. Our responsibilities continue to evolve due to the rapid growth of the company, which provides tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth. You’ll be interacting with many aspects of the company including Sales, Operations, R&D, HR, and Legal, as well as management at all levels.About the job:Team Management & StrategyEstablish credit policy, process and proceduresDevelop collect strategy and tacticsMotivate and manage the day to day activities of four team membersEnsure controls over credit and collections are compliant with SOX Select external collection agencies or partners and leverage as necessaryProcess & System ImprovementSelect and implement systems as necessary to drive efficiency and outcomesEstablish KPIs for the business, team and individuals and develop a program for systematic improvementCommercial AlignmentEstablish proper balance between credit risk and maximization of revenueEducate commercial team on risk and ensure adherence to policiesPartner with commercial teams to develop proper escalation path and engagement with customers to resolve collection issuesResearch and determine industry trends that will impact credit or collections of our clientsAbout your skills:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting10+ years of credit and collections experience2+ years of experience managing, growing and developing a teamHighly organized team player and motivatorExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong user of excel with experience building customizable reportsProficiency with MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint (Infor experience a plus)Experience in the Technology and/or Media Buying agency is a plusMore about you:You are passionate about a culture of learning and teaching.
