Associate Account Executive

The Associate Account Executive role is a key position on the AppNexus new business team. In this role, you will own the entire sales cycle – qualifying inbound leads, prospecting outbound leads, pitching AppNexus publisher products, closing deals and ensuring successful implementations. We are looking for someone who is analytical, business-minded, proactive and passionate about sales and technology. This role is perfect for someone who is highly self-motivated and wants to make a direct and significant impact in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Excellent communication and analytical skills are critical. You must be able to understand and breakdown complex technology, convince clients of its value, and overcome objections. Accountability and ownership are essential.

About the team:

Sales & Account Management is a driven and results-oriented organization that helps bring AppNexus’ digital advertising products to market. Our focus is building our clients’ businesses through leading-edge technology solutions, intuitive and effective ad serving tools, and strategic business consulting. We develop and nurture relationships with a wide range of publishers and advertisers to help them more effectively reach their target audience through real-time ad serving, allowing them to manage and grow their digital advertising business. Our team is seeking innovative, passionate, and driven people who can foster strong client relationships, meet sales quotas, and drive awareness of our products, all whilst thriving in a fast-paced environment.

About the job:

  • Qualify inbound leads, build creative strategies for outbound prospecting, close deals and ensure successful implementations
  • Build strong relationships cross-functionally with senior management of prospective clients
  • Manage an active pipeline and provide management reporting on revenue opportunities
  • Help clients troubleshoot technical implementations when necessary to ensure client activation
  • Provide input from client feedback to cross-functional teams to help shape product roadmap
  • Build the AppNexus brand and knowledge of our technology at industry events


About your skills:

  • 1-2+ years of working experience, preferably in a client-facing role; sales & technology industry experience is a plus
  • Strong negotiation skills, persistence, and follow-through
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Extremely self-motivated with a demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue expectations or going above and beyond
  • Effective management of reporting capabilities and organizational detail
