UX Prototyper, AR Applications

The Technology Development Group (TDG) is looking for UX Prototyper to help us shape and craft the next generation of interactive applications for our platform. This team is working with some of Apple's most advanced technologies including augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), machine learning (ML) and computer vision (CV). As a member of our organization, you will assist us in crafting future products that will delight, inspire and empower millions of people. In the role of UX Prototyper, you will wear many hats. You will have the opportunity to chip in to or lead the design work of initiatives at the many different stages of the product and experience development. We are looking for a creative individual who can define, articulate and build empowering creative solutions in completely new landscapes. We need a designer who loves to leverage both engineering and creative skills and will collaborate with Senior 3D Artists and Engineers to create new user experiences that surprise and delight. You need to be great at zooming from big picture thinking to detailed design and love doing both. You will be involved in initial project kick-offs, and will help lead interaction explorations and prototyping to help contribute to the design explorations and refinement process.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience shipping consumer or enterprise products
  • Qualified candidates should have at least 4 years of design specific experience
  • You have excellent interpersonal and inspiration skills
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: NUI, VR, AR, game design, art direction, and video storytelling
  • Strong visual design skills, think conceptually about design, excellent problem solving skills, and exercise the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and game engines such as Unity or Unreal
  • Strong 3D design and motion design skills, Final Cut, AE, C4D or Maya is preferred
  • Motion graphics, 3D graphics, special effects, or animation
  • Design for touch or mobile interfaces such as iPhone and iPad


Solve complex design problems and turn them into innovative, beautifully clear designed products Create interactive prototypes using Unity, Unreal, or similar tools Produce engaging experiences using sketches, storyboards, information architecture blueprints and prototypes to collect feedback and iteratively improve and support the design process Effectively communicate with engineers and partner teams during the implementation phase to realize design vision Work with user researchers to coordinate testing efforts, interpret test results, and incorporate results into design efforts

Education & Experience

Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Product Design, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Game Design, Film or equivalent
