Apple's Developer Tools team builds Xcode, Swift and other software used every day by millions of developers to create applications for iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and the Mac. We're looking for a highly motivated engineer to create native and web-based tools to improve these key technologies, validate what we ship, understand complex data patterns, and drive resolution of issues.

Key Qualifications

  • Practical experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, shell, Ruby, PHP, or JavaScript
  • Experience with object oriented programming languages such as Swift, Objective-C, C++, or Java
  • Strong knowledge of UNIX and macOS
  • Experience with source control systems such as svn or git
  • Web development experience
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal skills


Description

As members of Apple's Developer Tools team, we collaborate with a diverse range of software and hardware teams in a fast-paced environment to develop software at a large scale. You will gather a deep understanding of the state of our software throughout its development and beyond, by analyzing internal data and external feedback on our products, and using your eye for quality and attention to detail to understand the full scope of what we deliver to customers. You'll work in areas like tool development, process automation, web development, and data analysis, to create improvements and drive decisions that keep Apple's products on the cutting edge. Key aspects of this role: • Develop automated tools and systems for product content and data analysis, investigation, and reporting • Investigate and triage product-level issues involving combinations of Apple's development tools and OS products • Communicate with other team members and groups to investigate problems and coordinate work • Create rich and effective data presentations to improve decision-making about product development • Track upcoming development tools and operating systems changes to head off potential issues

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
