The IMG Audio team is looking for a motivated and dedicated engineer to lead our multi-functional efforts to improve audio performance on released and unreleased iOS, watchOS and macOS hardware.

Key Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience developing firmware or software
  • Excellent systems programming in C, C++
  • Some assembly programming experience is a plus
  • Experience with RTOS embedded development and multithreaded programming
  • Experience fixing latency-critical software issues
  • Familiarity with real-time audio (sample rates, buffering, I2S, PCM, drivers)
  • MacOS and/or iOS programming experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology required
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills


In this role, you will be investigating performance issues across the software stack, making changes to improve performance and working with other teams to drive audio performance improvements across the company. You'll also be responsible for writing tools to track performance and improve visibility of these metrics across Apple's eco-system.

Education & Experience

BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent industry experience
