JOB SUMMARY: Are you interested in building products enabled by machine learning and computer vision technologies? Help develop high-visibility user facing features and frameworks like Text Recognition/OCR, Apple Pay Credit Card Capture, or iTunes Gift Card Camera Redemption across all Apple Platforms including iOS and macOS. We are the Core Recognition team, and we would love to have an outstanding software engineer join our team to help design and develop the next generation of machine learning and computer vision software!

Key Qualifications

  • Strong programming skills in C++, Objective C or similar object oriented languages
  • Experienced with system architecture and design
  • Experience crafting an application or framework of significant scope
  • Familiarity with modern software development standard methodologies, spanning: source control, unit testing, and debugging
  • Familiarity with software optimization and performance measurement tools.
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Ability to optimally contribute to several concurrent projects
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication


As a member of the team you will innovate and deliver high-impact features that interacts with state-of-the-art machine learning technologies. You will help build and implement ML and computer vision software. Your responsibilities will include a mixture of software design exploration, implementation, API and user interface design, and maintenance of cross-platform frameworks. You will produce production level software while working through fast-paced iterative development cycles. You will partner with many teams across Apple to deliver outstanding features. We love engineers that possesses a passion for software stack and machine learning technologies, and has a consistent record of developing highly visual and responsive applications or frameworks. Education & Experience

Bachelors, MA or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field

Additional Requirements

  • Exposure to machine learning and deep learning development
  • Familiarity with deep learning toolkits
  • Experience with image processing and computer vision algorithms
  • Experience developing with OpenCV or similar toolkit
  • Exposure to scripting or prototyping languages
  • Experience with Unix, iOS or macOS development
