Engineering Program Manager, Application Platform

The Software Engineering Program Office is looking for an Engineering Program Manager to support the Application Platform Integrity team. As an EPM, you will play a key role in shipping high-quality platform features to billions of customers. Your experience will enable you to thoughtfully balance the various tradeoffs involved in creating a successful platform while navigating complex design, architectural, and regulatory constraints.

Description

As an EPM on the software application platform team, you will be a key member working across the software engineering organization and with cross-functional partners to develop Apple's software application platform. EPMs are catalysts for the teams they support, bringing clarity by creating plans, driving teams to execute, setting goals and expectations, and removing roadblocks.

Responsibilities:

Drive cross-functional projects and programs. Create clear plans and schedules that align engineering teams across the software organization, acting as the voice of the platform throughout the development cycle to craft a great developer story - and removing roadblocks to keep delivery on track.

Manage and communicate project status. Develop processes and manage project definitions, engineering achievements, schedules, and status for new and ongoing projects - ensuring the applications platform team's work is tracked, accounted for, and delivered on time.

Foster our culture of platform integrity. Orchestrate the creation of materials and plans used to promote awareness of application platform values and what we can achieve when we follow them.

Build relationships and influence. Engage with team members across all functional areas and levels of the organization - engineering, legal, marketing, design, and leadership - to drive alignment and execution across the platform.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, able to communicate effectively with engineers and senior leaders

A track record of quickly understanding technical concepts across a wide range of fields, including software architecture, API design, and system design

Demonstrated ability to provide succinct, accurate executive summaries of project status and complicated engineering situations

Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams through complex design and architectural constraints

Ability to track and manage numerous, unrelated parallel activities

Ability to mobilize, encourage, influence, advocate for, and lead teams without direct authority

Superior collaboration, communication, and organizational skills

Experience with software regulation compliance

Familiarity with iOS and macOS platform development

Flexible, self-motivated, curious

Minimum Qualifications

8+ years of Project / Program Management experience in the software development life cycle

Experience developing project plans and managing complex, cross-functional projects

Experience delivering customer-facing software features or projects from concept through delivery

BS/MS or equivalent experience

Pay & Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $258,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
