This position reports to the Global Head of Commercial Development in the Music Publishing group, and will involve both negotiating and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of rights holders. This is a key role to support the rapid expansion and growth of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple TV Channels and use of musical compositions across the Apple ecosystem.
- Specialism in music publishing licensing with an outstanding understanding of unique challenges associated with the landscape, and specific experience in the digital music and content distribution industry.
- Superior business development, negotiation and partnership management skills.
- Consistent record of delivering results as part of international, cross-functional teams.
- Extraordinary analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data and clearly communicate complex concepts to a broad range of partners.

Structure relationships and lead business negotiations with music publishers and collecting societies in the US, LATAM and beyond. Work in close partnership with Legal and Operations to negotiate complex licenses with publishing rights holders to help with the expansion of new markets, product features, pricing and commercial programs. Build business and financial models for new partnerships, programs and other business initiatives in collaboration with the Business Development team, including analysis, interpretation and presentation of data on the impact of such initiatives. Lead strategic relationships, including conducting business reviews to track performance and find opportunities for growth. Work collaboratively with all aspects of the Music Publishing team and the wider Apple family to find ways to better serve the music publisher and songwriter community, thereby helping to ensure that music services meet the needs and expectations of customers. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.
Education & Experience
BA/BS degree in Business or related subject, MBA or equivalent degree preferred. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience working in commercial and/or licensing roles within the music industry, ideally within music publishers or digital music or content distribution services, specifically within the US, LATAM and/or APAC.
