Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it! The Project Manager position is part of the AppleCare BPR (Business Process Re-engineering) team. The role will coordinate the preparation of required documentation based on the project size, identify partners and align resources to the project, effectively and clearly communicate project status, manage project risk, monitor the change readiness of the business, and conduct post-implementation audit reviews for AppleCare. The successful candidate must have a proven ability to manage medium to large size, global projects that are cross-functional in nature. This role is located on our campus in Austin, Texas.

  • Experience planning, managing and delivering medium (6-8 month) to large (8-12+ month) systems projects
  • Solid ability to manage to deadlines and meet cost constraints
  • Proficient at managing multiple efforts simultaneously in a global company
  • Strong communication across project and management teams
  • Excellent leadership skills that improve project team efficiency
  • Ability to develop new strategies and options for new projects
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Proficient knowledge of systems implementation and development lifecycles as well as business process flow diagramming
  • Ability to facilitate brainstorming sessions to gather requirements
  • Ability to perform robust business process analysis and recommend solutions
  • Literacy with word-processing, electronic spreadsheets, and project planning tools
  • Service support or warranty contract experience is a plus; consulting background is desireable
  • Logistics project interest and experience preferred


Description

In this position, you will incorporate Apple's standard methodologies for Project Management to ensure consistent delivery of a quality project. You will lead, plan and prioritize project activities in a dynamic environment; run projects across multiple AppleCare disciplines spanning sales, service, support, and logistics; and develop business project plans/schedules while balancing business needs and expectations. In addition, you will: - Identify and lead project team to major milestones ; handle project risk throughout the life of the project - Identify and get key business partners to support project roles - Communicate with customers to ensure quality of product and service on a regular basis; partner to identify alternatives for key problems - Lead brainstorming sessions to gather requirements ; prioritize and delegate key project tasks to team members - Develop or edit formal business requirement documents for projects/improvements - Assist business units in crafting quality documents required for project approvals; develop and maintain logs to ensure accountability for resolution of key issues - Complete business case documentation for senior management on selected projects - Act as a liaison between the business and technology teams to ensure business project needs are adequately met with technology solutions - Assist the business in developing strategy for specific business process areas - Broker agreement between multiple internal and systems development partners

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required, MBA a plus Project Management certification is preferred
