We are looking for an experienced applied machine learning researcher who is passionate about developing innovative product features that push the boundaries of sensing, machine learning, and human-computer interaction. In this role, you will work with time-series data from multiple sensors, build data and machine learning pipelines, help integrate models on-device to power new experiences, and work with your team to iterate on the end user experience. Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industry experience in applying machine and deep learning to solve practical problems.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: signal processing, multimodal sensing, sensor fusion, time series, time-frequency analysis, and dynamical systems.
  • Experience building data and modeling pipelines.
  • Experience applying signal processing and machine learning techniques to time-series sensor data (motion/IMU, audio, wireless technologies, optical, electrical and others).
  • Strong software development skills, with proficiency in Python
  • Creative, collaborative, & product focused.


Description

The team you will join is responsible for creating product features for Apple's wearables, home products, and future devices. We are highly collaborative and partner with a variety of product teams across Apple including Watch, Siri, Accessibility, Home, Health, Audio Products, and others and have shipped features like AssistiveTouch, Handwashing, and Raise to Speak on the Apple Watch.

Education & Experience

PhD in Machine learning, Computer Science, HCI, EE, Statistics, Physics, or related field.

Additional Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • * Demonstrated track record of building ML solutions for large scale time-series datasets.
  • * Strong publication record demonstrating innovative research.
  • * Relevant domain experience in learning to detect gestures, activities, intent, or context on wearable or IoT devices.
  • * Ability to explain and present analyses and machine learning concepts to a broad technical audience.
