Who we are looking for:

The Solution Engineer role (SE) enables the sales team with a variety of internal training and customer-focused services to assist in achieving bookings goals.  SE provides subject matter expertise to sales team on both the AppFolio Property Manager product and the Property Management Industry.

Ideal candidate has a passion for customer satisfaction, an affinity for details and possesses a record of independent action. Drives sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales ability and a superior customer focus. Participates as part of sales team to achieve or exceed revenue targets. The ability to build extraordinary relationships with customers and team members is critical.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

×      In-depth knowledge of all technical aspects of AppFolio Property Manager and the benefits for property managers. 

×      Thorough understanding of AppFolio Sales Methodology (STC)

×      Leverage product knowledge to provide technical expertise to the sales team and customer.

×      Conduct customer needs analyses and assist in overcoming objections.  Support sales team members in all stages of the sales cycle from discovery to due diligence.

×      Technical sales presentations; product demonstrations; and product proof of concepts, focusing on value the product brings to the customer

×      Work with Product Development team to communicate and train new AppFolio functionality to sales team

×      Training of both new and existing sales team members on AppFolio Property Manager and STC sales methodology

×      Participate in customer facing events such as Trade-Shows and Meet-Ups

×      Facilitate on-boarding of reps by working directly with them in all stages of sales cycle

×      Call listening and deal coaching

×      Work with new hires on STC skills and role playing

×      Provide feedback to leadership on sales rep performance

×      Work directly with sales leadership to assist reps on specific best practices and STC role play as needed

×      Other duties as assigned


 Knowledge and Skills:  

×      2+ years experience with B2B software/service sales or customer support.   

×      Excellent presentation, communication, time management and listening skills

×      Proven ability to motivate and train

×      Competitive + possess an entrepreneurial spirit and is driven to succeed

×      Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment

×      Ability to diagnose prospect needs and build relationships through value-based approach

×      Experience with Salesforce, PowerPoint, Online Meeting Technology, Google Docs, Excel a plus

×      Bachelor’s degree desired
