The Senior Business Analyst will be a strategic thinker and tactical executor of analytics at MyCase. In this position you’ll gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, roadmap and the context in which the business operates; and work closely with the MyCase leadership team, and with cross functional partners, to report key findings and help MyCase make decisions. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead business analytics for the MyCase line of business at AppFolio, Inc., providing timely analysis and insights to enable great decisions.
  • Contribute to MyCase’s success by working independently to drive key insights through data analysis and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Partner and collaborate cross-functionally, especially with Financial Analysts and Business Systems team to establish or redefine dashboards, refine reporting standards and automation, identify workflow/system improvements, and perform ad hoc analyses.
  • Work closely with Marketing to support accurate tracking, reporting, and attribution methodology for customer acquisitions.
  • Determine, implement, and evaluate business metrics to meet ongoing organizational or customer information needs.
  • Manage customer + stakeholder relationships and expectations by developing a communication flow to keep others up-to-date with pertinent information (project status, results, next steps, etc.).
  • Integrate multiple data sources to help drive actionable analysis.

Requirements

  • This candidate will possess business acumen and analytical skills, used to enable rapid decision-making, while also being able to ‘do’ the work and execute.
  • Ability to work independently, create buy-in, and drive projects to completion
  • Problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and agility
  • Ability to query databases using SQL
  • Highly collaborative and able to work effectively as part of a high functioning team.
  • Able to think strategically and work effectively with management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to tell a story/provide meaningful insights through data
  • Knowledge of financial procedures and operations preferred
  • Salesforce.com, Marketo, Mixpanel and Pendo experience helpful
  • Experience with business models that include ecommerce and/or online trial a plus
  • 4+ years business experience in a field such as management consulting, marketing analytics, or financial analysis.
  • BS or BA degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering. MBA preferred.
