Finance Manager, M&A

AppFolio is looking for a Finance Manager to join growing finance team. Reporting to the VP of Finance with strong internal partnerships, the successful candidate will be joining a fun, fast paced, high-growth company, and will leverage their proven experience.   This newly created position is critical to AppFolio as we execute on our multi-vertical business strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with internal partners focused on business development in the analysis of M&A opportunities.  Provide support in identifying, assessing, and executing transactions, including financial due diligence
  • Develop and manage complex financial models to quantify new business opportunities
  • Assess and quantify upside and downside scenarios
  • Present financial results and recommendations to senior management
  • Prepare presentation materials for various executive meetings
  • Analyze financial statements of potential acquisition targets to understand financial health
  • Track and report performance of executed M&A opportunities
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as needed

Skills and Knowledge: 

  • 7+ years of financial analysis experience in a high tech, or similar high growth environment
  • M&A or related experience required
  • Bachelors in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint/presentation skills
  • A deep understanding of financial modeling and accounting theory and practice
  • Diligent, accurate, and exceptional attention to detail
  • Possess a positive attitude, excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Proven demonstration of critical thinking, questioning the output of a financial model and considering options for improvement
  • Energy and passion for challenging the status quo and delivering results in a fast-paced, data-driven environment
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leaders across the business
