Job Description

Do you love podcasts and audio storytelling? Join HuffPost’s audio and podcast team. We are looking for someone with audio recording, editing and mixing skills, as well as editorial sensibilities. The producer will be responsible for assisting with studio and field recordings, and editing episodes and feature stories. The producer will help hone existing shows and shape the sound of our growing DC lineup. Reports to the Producer in NYC.

  • Record and mix interviews, and assemble rough and final cuts for host feedback

  • Work closely with the hosts in developing episodes and cutting shows to time

  • Perform production tasks including booking, transcription, and music supervision

  • Manage and monitor the distribution of episodes, related articles, and social content

  • Strive to build listenership, increase listener engagement, and reach new audiences

  • Contribute to special multimedia and social media projects

  • Ensure podcasts stay within budget and on time, and align with overall editorial strategy.

Qualifications

  • B.A/B.S or equivalent

  • 3 years experience working in audio production

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Audition or Pro Tools

  • Working knowledge of audio recording techniques and studio hardware

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Can quickly pivot to change focus or process, as projects grow and change

  • Ability to collaborate within a small group
